Connor McDavid participated in his first NHL All-Star game, on January 29, 2017 in Los Angeles, California. McDavid, was named captain of the Pacific Division by NHL fans. He went on to win the NHL’s fastest skater competition for the very first time. McDavid wasn’t done yet in 2018 he went back-to-back winning the fastest skater challenge. Only Five other players have won the event twice: Sergei Fedorov, Mike Gartner, Scott Niedermayer, Peter Bondra and Sami Kapanen. On his third All-Star appearance he made history when he became the first player to win the NHL’s fastest skater competition for the third straight year. The Edmonton Oilers center, a three-time All-star, recorded the fastest in the event (13.378 seconds).
