When you're as big, strong, talented and driven as Alonzo Mourning, you don't fly under the radar heading into your professional career. On the contrary, Zo led his Indian River High School team in Chesapeake, Virginia, to a state title as a junior and was named Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior after averaging an astounding 12 blocks a game. So when he entered Georgetown University as a freshman in 1988, he carried the burden of tremendous expectations. Like every other load he has carried on his strong shoulders, Mourning handled the pressure with the strength and grace of a future Hall of Famer. He led all of college basketball in blocked shots his first season with the Hoyas and finished his Georgetown career as a three-time All-America center. He was the Big East Player of the Year as a senior in 1992. Zo followed Patrick Ewing and Dikembe Mutombo as Georgetown centers who had Hall of Fame careers in the NBA. Mourning has signed this limited edition (33) Nike Georgetown Basketball in black paint pen. His signature is deemed authentic by virtue of Upper Deck Authenticated's Five Step Process.
